Love The Sacrifice

Reading: John 15: 9-17

NATS: There is no greater love than the love that a man lay down his life for his friends (John 15:13).

As I reflect on Matthew 15: 5, I wondered to myself, what the intent and purpose of the Lord Jesus expressed this doctrine, namely the sense of giving their lives for Christ and friends? In John 15 this, I note that Christ taught about sacrificial love.

At first, Jesus said, "This is my commandment, That ye love one another as I have loved you" (Matthew 15:12). Then he describes the advanced full of such love, "There is no greater love than the love of a man who gives his life for his friends (Matthew 15:13). Jesus was willing to die for us. Then we should be willing to die for Him and our friends..

Then he added, "You are my friends if you do what I command you" (Matthew 15:14). Jesus does not mean to say that we can be His friend only if we die for him. We also become his friend if we obey Him. In the presence of God, obeying Him as a living sacrifice is our way to give life to Him (Romans 12: 1)..

Likewise, we do not have to die for our friends, but there are various other ways to make sacrifices for them. We can sacrifice our solid plan and schedule to pay attention to someone in need. Or, we can donate our possessions to the poor..

Sacrifices like that, though seem trivial, it can be an incredible way to give our lives for our friends, if we sacrifice with great eagerness and in the Spirit of Christ's love...

THE MORE YOU CLOSE TO GOD
MORE OF YOUR HEART TO OTHERS.
